All members of Synod of Ecumenical Patriarchate sign Tomos for Ukraine’s Orthodox Church

On January 9, in Istanbul, all members of the Synod of the Ecumenical Patriarchate signed a tomos of autocephaly of the Orthodox Church of Ukraine.

The press service of the Ecumenical Patriarchate confirmed this to Ukrinform.

"Today, during the meeting of the Holy Synod of the Ecumenical Patriarchate, its members signed the text of tomos of autocephaly of the united Orthodox Church of Ukraine," the press service of the Ecumenical Patriarchate said.

As reported, on January 5, Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew signed a tomos of autocephaly of the Orthodox Church of Ukraine.

On January 6, the ceremony to hand over the tomos of autocephaly to the united Orthodox Church of Ukraine took place at the Patriarchal Church of St. George in Istanbul. Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew gave the document to Metropolitan of Kyiv and All Ukraine Epiphanius.

In Ukraine, the tomos of autocephaly for the first time was exhibited to the public during a liturgy in St. Sophia Cathedral on Christmas Day, January 7.
