A Ukrainian public organization named after Ivan Franko in Sumqayit, Azerbaijan, has taken part in a flash mob in support of captive sailors in Russia, according to the organization's page on Facebook.

"A Ukrainian community named after Ivan Franko has joined the Patriots of Ukraine Worldwide Movement in support of Ukrainian military sailors captured in Russia. Members of the Ukrainian community of Sumqayit decorated their homes and Christmas trees with yellow and blue paper boats," the statement said.

A flash mob titled "A Blue and Yellow Ship on a Christmas Tree" lasted until January 7 on the initiative of the Patriots of Ukraine Worldwide Movement in support of and with the demand for the release of Ukrainian sailors captured by Russian military.

On November 25, 2018, Russian warships seized Ukrainian boats Berdiansk and Nikopol and the Yany Kapu tug boat near the Kerch Strait and captured 24 Ukrainian sailors.
