"State forest enterprises subordinate to the State Forest Resources Agency of Ukraine have sold 332,600 Christmas trees as of December 26, 2018," the report says.

It notes that the top three leaders in terms of the number of Christmas trees sold are the Volyn regional office of forestry and hunting, which sold 66,500 coniferous trees, the Poltava office (48,700), and the Zhytomyr office (almost 32,000). The Kirovohrad office is fourth (26,700 coniferous trees), and the Sumy office is fifth (25,700).

According to the report, the forestry enterprises of the State Forest Resources Agency are logging Christmas trees from special plantations or during the cutting and rehabilitation of forests. Such measures do not harm woods. A number of forestry enterprises are also growing fir trees in pots.
