Ukraine’s Diana Tishchenko wins Long Thibaud Crespin International Violin Competition

President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko has congratulated Ukrainian violinist Diana Tishchenko on winning the first prize at the prestigious Long Thibaud Crespin International Violin Competition.

In a post on his Facebook page, Poroshenko wrote: "Classical music fans from all over the world were impressed by the fantastic victory of Ukrainian violinist Diana Tishchenko at the prestigious Long Thibaud international competition. The mastery of her performance and her outstanding talent enthuse listeners and command respect of colleagues. I sincerely congratulate you on this important victory! Ours are the best!"

The Long Thibaud Crespin competition is an international competition for academic pianists and violinists that has been held in Paris since 1943. It was founded by pianist Marguerite Long and violinist Jacques Thibault.
