Ukrainian citizens receive highest number of residence permits in EU in 2017

In 2017, 662,000 Ukrainians received residence permits in the EU Member States, according to the press release issued by Eurostat.

“In 2017, citizens of Ukraine (662,000 beneficiaries, of which almost 88% in Poland) continued to receive the highest number of permits in the EU,” reads the report.

In particular, Poland issued 585,439 residence permits to Ukrainians, the Czech Republic - 18,877 permits, Hungary – 7,808 permits, Slovakia and Denmark – 4,268 and 3,156 permits, respectively.

Syria became the second in terms of the number of residence permits issued in the EU – 223,000 permits, of which almost two-thirds in Germany.
