OSCE coordinator meets with militants' hostage Aseyev

OSCE Coordinator Toni Frisch has held confidential talks with 15 Ukrainian hostages of militants as part of his visit to the occupied Donbas.

He said this at a briefing in Kyiv on Thursday, September 13, an Ukrinform correspondent reports.

"We held confidential conversations with ten people, as well as five people who expressed their desire to be moved to a territory controlled by the Ukrainian government," Frisch said.

At the same time, he refused to mention their surnames, noting that this was confidential information.

Frisch also said that he had managed to talk to journalist Stanislav Aseyev and that it was a confidential conversation.

On September 8, OSCE Coordinator Toni Frisch arrived in the occupied Donbas, where he tried to talk to Ukrainian hostages of militants.

On September 11, the Ukrainian president's commissioner on the peaceful settlement of the situation in Donetsk and Luhansk regions, First Deputy Speaker of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine Iryna Gerashchenko said after Frisch's visit that he had managed to meet with several captured Ukrainian military servicemen in the occupied Donbas and communicate with them face-to-face. At the same time, she specified that Frisch had been allowed to visit less than half of the prisoners.
