Parliament opens access to information on preclinical study and clinical trials of medical products

The Verkhovna Rada approved the law amending Article 9 of the Law of Ukraine "On Medicines" and opened public access to experts and the public to the results of preclinical study and clinical trials of medicinal products.
A total of 247 MPs voted in favor of relevant bill No.4074, with at least 226 votes required to make a decision, an Ukrinform correspondent reports.
Head of the Parliamentary Committee on Healthcare Olha Bohomolets stressed that the law is aimed at bringing the Ukrainian legislation in line with relevant provisions of the EU directive, in particular, regarding public access to the results of preclinical and clinical trials of medicinal products. According to her, the Health Ministry annually conducts more than 200 clinical trials and received over UAH 100 million for this.
"The results of these studies should be accessible to the expert community and the public," said Bohomolets.
