Lithuania to allocate about a million euros to Donbas

The Government of the Republic of Lithuania in 2019 plans to allocate about a million euros to support Ukraine.

Chairman of the Donetsk Regional Military and Civil Administration Oleksandr Kuts informed this on his Facebook page after a meeting with Lithuanian Ambassador to Ukraine Marius Janukonis on August 15.

"Next year, the Lithuanian Government plans to allocate about a million euros from the budget to support Ukraine. A fundamental decision on this issue has been already made. Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Lithuania to Ukraine Marius Janukonis announced this during our meeting at the Donetsk Regional Military and Civil Administration," Kuts wrote.

He noted that Lithuania wanted to allocate funds to support populated areas affected by Russian armed aggression.

"We discussed a list of facilities that need financing, including schools, water supply system and checkpoints. The final decision where to send financial support will be taken by the Lithuanian Government," Kuts added.

He thanked Ambassador Janukonis and all of Lithuania for helping Ukraine.
