The Ukrainian side made an offer to the Russian Federation to hold a meeting of the ombudspersons of two countries within the framework of the Trilateral Contact Group (TCG) on August 21-22.

First Deputy Head of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, Ukraine’s representative in the Trilateral Contact Group, Iryna Gerashchenko, wrote this on her Facebook page.

"We propose that Ukrainian Parliament Commissioner for Human Rights Liudmyla Denisova meets with Russian Ombudswoman Tatyana Moskalkova on August 21-22 in Minsk, within the framework of the Trilateral Contact Group, to put efforts to unblock the process of releasing the detainees. Ukraine is ready for this. We support Oleg Sentsov and demand for the release of all political prisoners," she wrote.

Gerashchenko stressed that Ukraine "has not received a response to the initiative on transfer of 36 Russian criminals and terrorists to the Russian Federation for the liberation of our citizens."
