Knyazev: Patrol police launch recruitment campaign in Melitopol

The patrol police recruitment campaign has been launched in the city of Melitopol.

Chief of Ukraine’s National Police Serhiy Knyazev stated this at a briefing on Tuesday, an Ukrinform correspondent reports.

"The National Police decided to create a special unit of patrol police in an important administrative center in the south of our country, Pryazovia, in the city of Melitopol. Today we have launched the recruitment campaign," Knyazev said.

He noted that the duties of patrol police officers of this unit will include patrolling of the international route M-14 Odesa-Melitopol-Novoazovsk and the M-18 Kharkiv-Simferopol route within the territory controlled by the Ukrainian government to the administrative territory of Crimea.

In turn, Head of the Patrol Police Department Yevhen Zhukov said that this unit will number 150 patrol police officers.
