The relevant resolution was approved at the government meeting on Wednesday, July 4, an Ukrinform correspondent reports.
“The main goal of the foundation is to provide grants for fundamental and applied research and scientific developments,” Education and Science Minister Liliia Hrynevych stated.
She stressed that the creation of the foundation is one of the key steps in establishing a new system of management and financing of scientific activities in Ukraine in line with the law on scientific and technical activities, which was adopted by the Verkhovna Rada in 2015.
The National Research Foundation is an independent budget non-profit institution. The maximum number of employees is 60 people.
The foundation will be funded by the state budget, voluntary contributions, including foreign donors, and other sources not prohibited by law.
