Leaders of parliaments of four countries commemorate Holodomor victims in Washington D.C. Photos

The leaders of the parliaments of Ukraine, Lithuania, Moldova and Poland honored the memory of victims of the Holodomor famine-genocide of the Ukrainian people of 1932-33. 

The ceremony of laying symbolic sheaves of wheat at the memorial in the center of Washington D.C. was held on Tuesday, an Ukrinform correspondent reports.

Verkhovna Rada Chairman Andriy Parubiy, Chairman of the Lithuanian Parliament Viktoras Pranckietis, Speaker of the Parliament of Moldova Andrian Candu and Deputy Speaker of the Senate of Poland Adam Bielan thus completed the program of the first day of the visit to the United States.

During the next days, the representatives of the parliaments of European countries, including Ukraine, will take part in the international conference devoted to international security challenges associated with the Russian aggression. In addition, together with representatives of the American authorities, they will discuss the detrimental impact of the Russian Nord Stream 2 project on the energy security of Europe.
