Almost 70% of Kyiv subway passengers do not use plastic tokens to pay for travel, preferring a contactless fare payment system.

The municipal enterprise Kyiv Metropolitan wrote this on its official Facebook page.

“Almost 70% of subway passengers already do not use tokens… Save your time and money, use a card,” reads the report.

It is noted that passengers prefer to pay a fare using subway contactless cards, bank cards or Kyiv resident cards. In particular, subway passengers can pay for their trip using contactless bank cards and mobile Google Pay and Apple Pay applications at yellow turnstiles.
