Government suggests ratifying agreement between Ukraine and Finland to support school reform

The Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine proposes that the Verkhovna Rada ratifies the agreement between Ukraine and Finland, which provides for allocation of about EUR 6 million in support of the Ukrainian school reform.

The corresponding draft law was approved at the meeting of the Cabinet of Ministers.

"When carrying out the educational reform, Finland focused on the preparation of teachers. Finnish teachers are among the best in the world. That is why the priority of our cooperation is change in the system of preparation and skill enhancement of Ukrainian teachers," Education and Science Minister of Ukraine Lilia Hrynevych said.

These funds are designed for four years to implement the priorities of the New Ukrainian School reform, in particular, skill enhancement of teachers in primary schools, popularization of education, improvement of the educational environment.
