Hug leaves for Donbas

Principal Deputy Chief Monitor of the OSCE Special Monitoring Mission to Ukraine Alexander Hug will make an unplanned trip to Donbas on Thursday, May 17, the OSCE's press office has reported.
According to the report, he is travelling to Donbas this evening "following a serious deterioration in the security situation in the last 24 hours."
The report notes that Hug will assess the security situation along the contact line and its impact on civilians, and discuss with interlocutors measures to reduce tension.
