Half a million Ukrainians have already taken advantage of visa-free travel to the EU countries.
President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko informed this on Twitter.
"Since June 2017 half a million Ukrainians have already taken advantage of the visa-free regime with the countries of the European Union," he wrote.
Earlier, the State Border Service reported that a biometric control system established by the border agency operated in all aviation, international and interstate border crossing points with the EU countries.
On June 11, 2017, the decision of the Council of the European Union to introduce a visa-free regime for short trips of Ukrainian citizens to 30 countries of the European Union and the Schengen zone came into force.
