Average monthly salary exceeds minimum wage twofold - State Statistics

The average monthly salary in Ukraine totaled UAH 8,382 in March 2018, which is 2.3 times higher than the statutory minimum wage, the government’s portal reports.

“The average salary in Ukraine in March 2018 grew by 5.9% to UAH 8,382 from February, which is 2.3 times higher than the statutory minimum wage set for the current year,” reads the report.

According to the State Statistics Service of Ukraine, the average wage grew by 9.5% against March 2017.

Employees of industrial enterprises, primarily mining and pharmaceutical sectors, metallurgy, car industry and energy supply sector received salaries significantly higher than the above-average pay.

The highest rise in salaries was recorded in the state management and defense sectors (grew 41.7% against March 2017), financial and insurance activities (30%), and industry as a whole (26.7%).
