Ukraine moves up a notch in press freedom ranking

Ukrinform
Ukraine has moved up one notch in the press freedom ranking 2018 and now occupies the 101st position among 180 world countries.

This is stated in the annual report of the Reporters Without Borders.

The authors of the report explain such slow progress partially with the disappointments after the Revolution of Dignity expectations.

As noted, information warfare with the Russian Federation, impunity for attacks on journalists and oligarchic influence on the leading media remain the main challenges in Ukraine.

It is indicated that the press freedom in Russia and Turkey has fallen to an unprecedented low level in the last 30 years.
