The physical and psychological experience of Ukrainian Paralympic athletes is very important for the injured veterans of the anti-terrorist operation as it can return them desire to live and fight.

President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko said this at the meeting with the Ukrainian Paralympic team on Friday, March 30, an Ukrinform correspondent reports.

"Paralympic medals are wings that raise us up. These are our common victories for Ukrainian soldiers, for ATO veterans who look at you and their desire to live is revived... More than 13,000 Ukrainian soldiers have been wounded in this terrible war. They need medical care, attention of society, but most importantly, they need psychological help, and each of you plays an extremely important role for Ukraine," the Head of State said.

Each of 22 medals of Ukrainian Paralympic athletes is a pride for the whole of Ukraine, the President stressed.

"It is also an opportunity to draw the world's attention to our struggle for the future, the European and Euro-Atlantic prospects of Ukraine, for reforms, as well as our sovereignty and territorial integrity," the President emphasized.
