The Security Service of Ukraine (SBU) has refused entry to 23 Russian diplomats who were expelled from Britain due to the poisoning of former Russian intelligence officer Sergei Skripal and his daughter, the SBU's press service has reported.

"SBU Chief Vasyl Hrytsak noted that their activity is deliberate mockery over one of the key functions of the diplomatic mission outlined by the Vienna Convention on Diplomatic Relations of 1961 - the promotion of friendly relations between the states," the report reads.

Hrytsak also noted that Russian intelligence officers, under the guise of diplomats, were increasingly resorting to provocations aimed at undermining the foundations of international stability and security.

As reported, Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko said earlier that Ukraine had decided to expel 13 Russian diplomats.
