Government starts process of establishing Ministry for Veterans Affairs

The Cabinet of Ministers has launched the process of establishing the Ministry for Veterans Affairs, the government’s press service reports.
"The Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine in pursuance of the Ukrainian Verkhovna Rada’s decision begins the process of establishing the Ministry for Veterans Affairs at the State Service for War Veterans and Anti-Terrorist Operation Participants," reads the report.
According to the plan, the process of establishing the ministry is expected to take one month.
The ministry will become the central executive body that ensures the formation and implementation of state policy in the sphere of social protection of veterans and ATO participants.
According to Prime Minister Volodymyr Groysman, the government considers it an important task to socially protect people who defend the state sovereignty and territorial integrity of Ukraine.
