Over 1,500 people appeal to Ukrainian Ombudsman in 2017

The Office of the Ukrainian Parliament Commissioner for Human Right received over 1,500 applications from citizens in 2017, according to the annual report of the Commissioner for on the observance of human rights in Ukraine.

Head of the Secretariat of the Ukrainian Parliament Commissioner for Human Rights Bohdan Kryklyvenko posted this on Facebook.

“A total of 158,091 people appealed to the Commissioner, including 1,914 people with whom [the Commissioner] held a meeting,” reads the document.

Kryklyvenko noted that the report was submitted to the Verkhovna Rada on March 13: “The annual report on the state of observance of human rights in Ukraine in 2017 has been submitted to the Verkhovna Rada today. It includes 661 pages of analytics and facts, which will be the main human rights advocate of Parliament's legislative activities."
