President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko said this during a meeting with young scientists in the National Technical University of Ukraine “Ihor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic Institute” on Thursday, February 22, an Ukrinform correspondent reports.
"Ukrainian institutions and organizations every year take increasingly active part in the largest EU Framework Programme for Research and Innovation. According to the results of 446 competitions, the funding in the amount of more than EUR 17 million has already been provided for 117 Ukrainian organizations participating in the Horizon 2020 programme. Earlier we could only dream about it. And I can assure all the present that, in turn, I unreservedly support the progressive approaches to the formation of a system for supporting young scientists,” Poroshenko said.
The state will make every effort to create proper conditions for talented young scientists to work in the homeland, the President noted.
Ukraine became an associated member of the EU Framework Programme for Research and Innovation "Horizon 2020" in 2015.
