UNICEF Ukraine grants Luhansk region EUR 4.5 mln in humanitarian aid

The United Nations Children's Fund in Ukraine has allocated EUR 4.5 million in humanitarian aid to Luhansk region.

The information was published on the official website of the Luhansk Regional State Administration.

"Today the delegation of the United Nations Children's Fund (UNICEF) in Ukraine met with Deputy Chairman of the Regional State Administration Vadym Danielian. UNICEF WASH (Water, Sanitation and Hygiene) Program Chief Sebastien Truffaut told that UNICEF with the support of the German government plans to increase the amount of humanitarian aid to the public utilities for water supply and disposal as well as the decentralizing water supply systems. Therefore, the humanitarian aid in the amount of EUR 4.5 million has been allocated to Luhansk region," the press service of the Luhansk Regional State Administration reports.

In addition, UNICEF plans to continue to provide assistance in water supply, sanitation and hygiene for the population of the region that suffered as a result of hostilities.
