Government proposes moving five working days in 2018

The decision was made at a government meeting on Thursday, an Ukrinform correspondent reports.

Thus, employees of enterprises, institutions and organizations who work five days a week with two days off (Saturday and Sunday), except for the Pension Fund, the Ukrposhta Postal Service, the State Treasury Service and banking institutions, will have their workdays in 2018 moved from Friday, March 9, to Saturday, March 3, from Monday, April 30, to Saturday, May 5, from Friday, June 29, to Saturday, June 23, from Monday, December 24, to Saturday, December 22, and from Monday, December 31, to Saturday, December 29.

The Cabinet of Ministers notes that the transfer of working days will not reduce the length of working hours during the year, the volume of production and receipts of tax and mandatory payments to budgets of all levels.

This will create favorable conditions for celebrations in 2018 of the International Women's Day on March 8, Labor Day on May 1, Ukraine's Constitution Day on June 28, Catholic Christmas on December 25, and the New Year on January 1, 2019.
