Ukraine’s poverty rate declines to 39.4% - Reva

Ukraine’s poverty rate decreased to 39.4% in 2017 from 54.5% in 2016.

Social Policy Minister Andiry Reva stated this at an annual press conference, an Ukrinform correspondent reports.

“According to the data provided by the state statistics service and the procedure used by international organizations, the poverty rate over the year dropped to 39.4% from 54.5%,” Reva said. .

According to him, Ukraine’s poverty rate declined due to an increase in social standards and rise in average wages.
