Grybauskaite: Rights of Ukrainian workers in Lithuania to be protected

President of Lithuania Dalia Grybauskaite has stated that social rights of labor migrates from Ukraine will be protected. 

She stated this at a joint press conference with President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko, an Ukrinform correspondent reports.

“This time we have signed four agreements on the directions of cooperation for the next year, in particular on strategic cooperation in the field of energy, on cooperation in the field of migration, as the flows of immigrants from Ukraine to Lithuania are growing, and we understand that this is due to the signed agreement between the European Union and Ukraine. We understand that the issue of social security is very important,” Grybauskaite said.

In addition, President Poroshenko and President Grybauskaite agreed to sign an agreement between the two states on social protection of the Ukrainian citizens working in Lithuania.
