President Poroshenko signs law on making December 25 non-working holiday in Ukraine

President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko has signed the law, which establishes December 25 an official non-working holiday in Ukraine and cancels non-working day on May 2.

The law was signed and returned back to the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, the parliament’s press service reports.

November 16, the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine passed the bill No.5496 on amendments to the Labor Code on holiday and non-working days. It stipulated making December 25 an official non-working holiday in Ukraine and cancelling the day off on May 2. From now on, Ukrainians will mark Labor Day only one day, on May 1.
