President attends forum of representatives of local communities elected from BPP

Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko is attending a forum of representatives of local communities elected from the Bloc of Petro Poroshenko during the local elections on October 29, 2017, an Ukrinform correspondent reports.
"I am glad to meet you. This is a unique occasion to congratulate you on your victory. Few believed in the initiative I put forward more than three years ago that decentralization will be the cornerstone of my presidential program. They promised to the Ukrainian people for 25 years to conduct decentralization. And these are not just the words. This is the transfer of real power, authority and money to the community," the head of state said.
He noted that the budgets of the development of territorial communities had currently grown by 6-7 times.
The forum is attended by 115 heads of united territorial communities elected in the first elections on October 29, 2017.
