LEGO education methodology being introduced in Ukrainian elementary schools
This was agreed at the meeting of Education and Science Minister of Ukraine Liliya Hrynevych and CEO of The LEGO Foundation John Goodwin, the press service of the Education and Science Ministry reports.
"The pilot early education establishments will be provided with the LEGO education methodology, and the LEGO Foundation coaches will be involved in retraining the teachers who will work in the first class of the New Ukrainian School in 2018. In the second half of the year, one hundred schools with a new standard of primary education will receive Six Bricks sets for each child in the experimental classes," the statement reads.
As Mr. Goodwin explained, the Six Bricks is a hands-on tool for learning which will help children practice their memory, movement, creativity and more through fun and short activities with set of Lego bricks in six bright colors.
"We are very interested in cooperation as we really want to change our schools and approach to learning. First of all, it concerns the elementary schools, which we will start our New Ukrainian School reform with. We need to provide schools with new equipment and methodology, particularly, game-based learning," Hrynevych said.
