Umerov, Chiygoz can arrive in Ukraine on Oct 27 - Dzhaparova
First Deputy Minister of Information Policy Emine Dzhaparova reported this on her Facebook page on Thursday.
"The arrival of freed deputy heads of the Mejlis Ilmi Umerov and Akhtem Chiygoz has been postponed. Details will be disclosed later. We apologize for the inconvenience. We will report the new time of arrival at Boryspil Airport as soon as we have the information. We are waiting for them tomorrow - October 27," she wrote.
Earlier it was reported that Umerov and Chiogoz could arrive in Ukraine late on October 26.
As reported, Chiygoz and Umerov, who were convicted in the occupied Crimea, were transferred to Turkey on Wednesday.
On September 27, a Kremlin-controlled court in Crimea sentenced deputy chairman of the Mejlis of the Crimean Tatar people Ilmi Umerov to two years in a penal colony, banning him to engage in public activity for two years. The criminal case against Umerov was instituted in 2016 under Article 280.1 of the Criminal Code of Russia (public appeals for separatism).
On September 11, a court in Russian-occupied Crimea brought in the guilty verdict against deputy head of the Mejlis of the Crimean Tatar people Akhtem Chiygoz for organizing mass riots on February 26, 2014. Chiygoz was sentenced to eight years in a strict-regime colony.
