NACP accuses Transparency International Ukraine manager of manipulation

"The National Agency on Corruption Prevention believes that remarks by Executive Director at Transparency International Ukraine Yaroslav Yurchyshyn on NACP are a message containing distorted information. Referring in his interview [with Ukrainian News on October 16] to the so-called 'behind-the-scenes' information, he provides evaluative and unconfirmed judgments that in no way can objectively characterize the situation at the National Agency on Corruption Prevention," the statement says.

In this regard, NACP said that the information provided in the interview was "purely private opinion of Mr. Yurchyshyn, and in this case it is not true."

The agency also stated that it considered such statements as "manipulation of the consciousness of the citizens in order to undermine confidence in the state authorities, in particular anti-corruption bodies, which, in the difficult circumstances of the implementation of reforms, is irresponsible and unacceptable."

Earlier Yurchyshyn described the work of the National Agency on Corruption Prevention as disappointment, calling the current composition of the agency unprofessional and politicized.
