OSCE to install four more cameras on line of contact in Donbas

The OSCE Special Monitoring Mission (SMM) plans to install video surveillance cameras at the Hnutove, Mayorsk and Maryinka checkpoints, as well as on militant-controlled Prince Ihor Hill near Stanytsia Luhanska, the press center of the anti-terrorist operation (ATO) headquarters has reported.

"In addition to the already existing CCTV cameras, by the end of September this year the OSCE OSM plans to install four more CCTV cameras at the Hnutove, Mayorsk and Maryinka checkpoints (Donetsk region), as well as on Prince Ihor Hill in the area of Stanytsia Luhanska," the statement reads.

It notes that the Ukrainian side of the Joint Center for Control and Coordination (JCCC) facilitates the OSCE SMM in increasing the capacity for remote monitoring of the security situation in the Donbas.

The OSCE SMM is now using seven surveillance cameras on both sides of the contact line, namely in Avdiyivka and Shyrokyne in Donetsk region, the Donetsk water filtering station, the first (Stanytsia Luhanska) and second (Zolote, Luhansk region) areas of the disengagement of forces and hardware, as well as the third disengagement area in Petrivske and the Oktiabrska mine in the militant-controlled territory.
