Ukraine’s cultural societies call on President to introduce post of commissioner on national minorities

Representatives of national and cultural societies of Ukraine have called on President Petro Poroshenko to introduce the post of Commissioner on National Minorities.
This is stated in a resolution approved on August 29 at the all-Ukrainian conference "26 years of Ukraine’s independence: achievements and prospects for the development of state ethno- national policy”.
"Participants of the all-Ukrainian conference ... decided to appeal to the President of Ukraine with a request to assist in creating the Coordination Council of Nationalities of Ukraine as a consultative and advisory body under the President of Ukraine, introducing the post of the Ukrainian President's Commissioner on National Minorities," reads the document.
