Representatives of about 70 foreign media outlets received permits to enter Crimea through the Ukrainian territory in last year.

First Deputy Information Policy Minister of Ukraine Emine Dzhaparova announced this at a press conference at Ukrinform news agency on Monday.

"Any foreigner, including foreign journalists, must enter the territory of Crimea through Ukrainian checkpoints. Within the framework of the existing legislation, the Information Policy Ministry and the State Migration Service of Ukraine simplified the procedure for obtaining such a permit as much as possible. In fact, you can get a permit in a few hours. Over the past year, we issued approximately 70 permits to representatives of foreign media outlets from more than 25 countries, including BBC, Deutsche Welle and many other world leading media, and we had no problems with journalists," Dzhaparova said.
