Ukraine is interested in launching projects on joint film production with Canada and intends to conclude relevant agreements.

Culture Minister of Ukraine Yevhen Nyshchuk told this to an Ukrinform correspondent following a meeting with Deputy Minister of Canadian Heritage Graham Flack.

“In the wake of the impetus given by film “Bitter Harvest”, we talked about preparations and signing of an agreement on joint film production. We have preliminary agreed that our media companies will start the work with Canadian productions,” said Yevhen Nyshchuk.

According to him, mutual interest will allow accelerating the process of signing a corresponding agreement. "In line with a standard procedure, the developing of an agreement lasts for about 18 months, but we hope it will be possible to speed up it," the minister said.

A reminder that this week Minister of Culture Yevhen Nyshchuk is on a multi-day visit to Canada. In particular, he attended the Canadian premier of "Bitter Harvest" and held a range of meetings.
