Medical doctors' department opens at Mykolaiv State University

Petro Mohyla Black Sea State University in Mykolayiv city will open a medical department for training medical doctors this year, rector of the university Leonid Klymenko made a statement.

"Petro Mohyla Black Sea State University in Mykolayiv begins to teach medical students. The University has received a license to train the second (Master's) level of the specialty "Medical studies" this year,” noted Klymenko.

According to him, this year the medical students’ class will have 150 students.

"We thank the regional administration for their assistance in this process. Moreover, the full support and implementation of the planned action has helped prove that Mykolayiv is a city of the future where you want to live, work creatively," said the rector.

It should be noted that the Mykolaiv region traditionally faces a serious shortage of healthcare professionals, especially medical doctors.
