Over 1,000 Ukrainian children diagnosed annually with cancer diseases – MP Bohomolets
The Rada chairwoman of the committee on health Olha Bogomolets told lawmakers in her speech on the parliament’s floor, Ukrinform reports.
"In Ukraine, we diagnose over one thousand children with cancer each year, while one out of four children dies," said Bohomolets.
According to her, the first place among these diseases is leukemia, the second - brain tumors, and the third - lymphomas.
MP Bohomolets noted that the state does not provide funds for an entire treatment of children suffering from cancer.
She also urged parliamentarians to take a look at the exhibition of children portraits - cancer survivors, located in the lobby of the ground floor of the Rada building organized on today’s occasion of World Child Cancer Day.
