Ukraine Ministry of Health begins third phase of polio immunization

The Ministry of Health has announced on January 25 the beginning of the third round of polio vaccinations.
Deputy Minister of Health of Ukraine Ihor Perehinets told a press conference, Ukrinform reports.
"It was decided to launch the third round on January 25 with a possibility of extending the period of time for the third round by taking into account the epidemiological situation with flu and viral infections in the regions", Perehinets said.
He noted administering of vaccination will be adjusted in each region depending on the duration of quarantine or preventive measures that local authorities have declared. In Addition, deputy minister focused on the fact that the flu epidemic cannot prevent the immunization campaign against polio.
