Russia deliberately redirects Ukrainian drones toward Baltic states – Lithuanian FM
According to Ukrinform, Lithuanian Foreign Minister Kestutis Budrys stated this on X.
"Russia is deliberately redirecting Ukrainian drones into Baltic airspace while waging smear campaigns against Lithuania, Latvia, and Estonia," he wrote.
According to Budrys, this is a clear act of desperation — an attempt to sow chaos and divert attention from the simple reality that Ukraine is dealing serious blows to Russia's military machine.
"My message to the Kremlin: nice try. Failed again. NATO stands united. We are ready to defend every inch of Allied territory — in the air, on land, and at sea," Budrys stated.
As Ukrinform previously reported, Hanno Pevkur said that a drone entered Estonian airspace and was eventually shot down by Baltic air defense systems over Lake Võrtsjärv. According to him, the drone was likely of Ukrainian origin and had been heading toward targets inside Russia. Estonia's Air Force and Security Police are expected to establish more precise details.
Meanwhile, Heorhii Tykhyi emphasized that Ukraine apologized to Estonia for the unintentional drone incident, which was caused by Russian electronic warfare systems.
