Zelensky expects Trump representatives in Kyiv in late spring or early summer

According to Ukrinform, the Ukrainian leader announced this on Facebook following a report by National Security and Defense Council Secretary Rustem Umerov, who is currently holding talks in the United States.

"Today, Rustem Umerov delivered a report following his meetings in the United States. The negotiations were substantive. We are coordinating the schedule of the necessary visits and expect envoys of the U.S. President in Kyiv at the turn of spring and summer. We hope this time we will be able to realize what has been planned and reinvigorate diplomacy," Zelensky said.

He also noted that Umerov is holding talks in the United States regarding future prisoner exchanges.

"We discussed humanitarian issues, including the continuation of POW exchanges. We are refining the details of arrangements that can guarantee security. Importantly, there is a constructive approach, and we need to move toward peace by strengthening Ukraine and our bilateral relations with the United States," Zelensky said.

Zelensky earlier stated that representatives of U.S. President Donald Trump – Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner – could arrive in the Ukrainian capital after the Easter holidays. At the same time, he noted that U.S. attention during this period was focused on negotiations concerning Iran.
