Ukraine views return of Oschadbank funds as sign of Hungary's readiness to develop relations – FM Sybiha

Ukraine's Foreign Minister Andrii Sybiha welcomed Hungary's return of Oschadbank's funds and valuables.

According to Ukrinform, Sybiha stated this on the social network X.

"A welcome development on the path toward normalising the Ukrainian-Hungarian relations. We thank the Hungarian side for taking this step. The return of the stolen property draws a clear line between the lawlessness of the Orban regime and the constructive approach of the incoming new government. We take this as a sign of Hungary's willingness to advance our relations with mutual respect and healthy pragmatism — and we are ready to reciprocate," he said.

Sybiha added that he expects future contacts with Anita Orbán, who is to become Hungary's foreign minister in the new government of Péter Magyar.

As previously reported, on May 6 Hungary returned to Ukraine funds and valuables belonging to Oschadbank that had been seized by Hungarian special services in March.
