President Volodymyr Zelensky, during a meeting with Italy's Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Antonio Tajani, discussed the consequences of a potential blockade of the Strait of Hormuz and efforts to counter Russian propaganda.

According to Ukrinform, Zelensky reported this on Telegram.

"We discussed the consequences of Iran's blockade of the Strait of Hormuz. This is a global challenge for fuel, gas, and fertilizer markets, and we are offering our partners in the region our unique expertise to address these threats together," Zelensky said.

Zelensky emphasized that this is valued both in Italy and across Europe as a whole.

"It is no secret that Russia uses every platform to whitewash its aggression, and we discussed how to counter such propaganda. We agreed that our teams will align their positions in this area," he added.

As Ukrinform previously reported, Italy's Foreign Minister Antonio Tajani expressed doubts about the feasibility of expanding EU naval missions Aspides and Atalanta to the Strait of Hormuz in order to restore crude oil supplies.
