Zelensky discusses Ukraine's EU path and European integration coordination with Wadephul
According to Ukrinform, Zelensky reported this on Telegram.
"The current blockages are purely political, and I am grateful to Germany for its support," Zelensky noted.
The president emphasized the importance of Germany's backing and stressed that opening negotiation clusters could give momentum to Ukraine's reforms and its European integration process.
"I also shared the results of my visit to the Middle East and the system for protecting lives that Ukraine has offered to the countries of the region," he added. Zelensky assured that Ukraine is ready to develop cooperation with European partners who have supported it since the beginning of the full-scale war.
As Ukrinform previously reported, Germany's Foreign Minister Johann Wadephul, speaking at a press conference on the sidelines of a G7 ministerial meeting in France, assured that Germany's support for Ukraine will not decrease, as a Russian victory in the war would lead to a sharp deterioration in security for the entire Euro-Atlantic community.
Wadephul stressed that a Russian victory would significantly worsen the security situation not only in Europe but also across the transatlantic space, and called for increased pressure on Russia, including through sanctions on the energy sector and efforts to combat the "shadow fleet."
