Ukraine denounces Iran's claims of 'complicity' in US-led war as lies
Ukrainian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Heorhii Tykhyi said this in a post on X, according to Ukrinform.
"How to know whether an Iranian regime representative is lying? If his lips move, he is. Almost 60,000 drones shared by Iran with Russia have struck Ukraine since 2022. Not a single Ukrainian drone has ever hit Iran. This liar should've been long gone together with his regime," Tykhyi said.
Earlier, media reports noted that Iran's UN envoy Amir Saeid Iravani sent a letter to the UN Secretary-General and Security Council, alleging that Ukraine supported aggression against Iran by allegedly sending "hundreds of specialists" to the Middle East to counter Iranian drone attacks on neighboring countries. According to the letter, Ukraine's acknowledgment of sending "hundreds of specialists" to assist several Gulf states in countering Iran essentially constitutes material and operational support for the ongoing unlawful armed aggression led by the US and Israel against Iran, which began on February 28, 2026.
Earlier, President Volodymyr Zelensky said that Ukraine's diplomatic team continues active cooperation with Middle Eastern and Gulf countries interested in Ukraine's expertise in countering modern drones.
