Serbia extends its gas import agreement with Russia for another three months
According to Ukrinform, Reuters stated this in an article.
Vucic said that during the conversation they discussed bilateral relations, economic cooperation, global events, and gas imports. The Serbian leader announced the extension of the gas contract with Russia for another three months "on very favorable terms."
He added that the extension preserves the current conditions regarding price and import volumes. "We ... pay between $320 and $330 (per 1,000 cubic meters). So the extension is, under the same conditions, 6 million cubic meters of gas per day ... and if more gas is needed, it will allow us that kind of flexibility," Vucic said.
He also noted that prices will remain linked to oil prices.
Cheaper Russian gas imports cover up to 90% of Serbia's needs, although Belgrade is seeking to diversify supplies through gas from Azerbaijan and liquefied natural gas from terminals in Greece, the report says.
Serbian company Srbijagas imports gas from Russia's Gazprom. Together, they co-own a gas storage facility with a total capacity of 450 million cubic meters, located in the village of Banatski Dvor in northern Serbia. In addition, Serbia pays for extra gas storage capacity in neighboring Hungary.
As Ukrinform previously reported, Serbia extended its gas supply agreement with Russia for three months, until March 2026.
