Ukraine has agreements with Arab countries on maritime drones, says Zelensky
According to a Ukrinform correspondent, President Volodymyr Zelensky made this statement during a conversation with journalists.
When asked whether agreements on maritime drones were reached during his visit to the Middle East, the president replied: “Yes, we did. This is part of the system of our agreements that I have already mentioned.”
Zelensky noted that during the meetings, they discussed Ukraine’s experience in unblocking maritime trade routes using maritime drones, which could be useful in the context of the situation in the Strait of Hormuz.
“We raised this issue because, as we can all see, it is a painful and pressing matter for the entire world. Because there is an energy crisis. They know they can count on our expertise in this area. ...We shared our experience with the Black Sea corridor and how it operates. They understand that our Armed Forces were very successful in unblocking the Black Sea corridor, and we are sharing these details,” Zelensky said.
He added that the United States is working on other approaches to resolving the Strait of Hormuz issue, while Ukraine is always ready to assist its partners.
As reported, on March 27, Volodymyr Zelensky began a tour of the Middle East, during which he visited Saudi Arabia, the UAE, Qatar, and Jordan.
In Doha, Zelensky signed an agreement with Amir of the State of Qatar Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, and Prime Minister Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al-Thani, on a mutually beneficial defense partnership lasting at least 10 years. A similar agreement was signed with Saudi Arabia.
During an online briefing with journalists, the President stated that a similar document would be signed with the UAE.
