Zelensky: Talks on ending war not delayed

The President made the statement in his evening address, Ukrinform reports.

“This is not a matter of emotions, as some might say. It is a matter of what partners are ready for. Russia operates in a very simple way: if they are afraid, they’re willing to toe the line. If pressure on Russia is weakened, Russia thinks it has struck gold and can continue the war,” Zelensky said.

That is why, the President stressed, pressure on the aggressor is the key to peace, genuine diplomacy, and real agreements.

The president also said he had given new instructions to the secretary of the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine. According to him, communication between Rustem Umerov and the United States side is continuing around the clock.

“This week we will also work with our partners in Europe so that Ukraine has greater capabilities to defend itself, and our partners are more willing to support us – to support Ukraine,” Zelensky said.

As previously reported, negotiations involving Ukraine, the United States, and Russia were planned for March 10–11. Zelensky said the Ukrainian side was ready to travel for the meeting, but the United States suggested postponing it until the following week.
