IAEA Director General discusses situation at Zaporizhzhia NPP with Svyrydenko

“Good exchange with Prime Minister Yulia Svyrydenko at the 2026 Nordic Ergonomics and Human Factors Society (NES) Annual Conference, including on the situation at ZNPP and the IAEA-brokered ceasefires that enabled repairs to restore the plant’s back-up power line,” Grossi wrote.
He stressed that nuclear safety and security at all nuclear facilities in Ukraine remain a priority for the IAEA.
The agency's head also announced a visit to Ukraine on the occasion of the 40th anniversary of the Chornobyl Nuclear Power Plant accident.
“I look forward to visiting Ukraine next month to mark the 40th anniversary of the Chornobyl accident,” he emphasized.
As reported by Ukrinform, French President Emmanuel Macron called on Western countries to accelerate the diversification of uranium supplies and reduce their dependence on Russia, which currently accounts for about 40% of global enriched uranium production.
