The foreign ministers of Ukraine and Poland, Andrii Sybiha and Radosław Sikorski, discussed diplomatic efforts to achieve peace, the situation in the Middle East, and agreed that it is unacceptable to block EUR 90 billion in assistance to Ukraine.

According to Ukrinform, Sybiha reported this on the social network X, following their meeting in Warsaw while traveling to Latin America.

Sybiha noted that he briefed his Polish counterpart on the situation on the battlefield and the current state of diplomatic efforts aimed at achieving lasting peace. The parties also discussed the geopolitical situation in the Middle East and noted that Ukraine's experience in countering Iranian drones could contribute to broader security efforts.

Sybiha thanked Poland for its unwavering political, military, and humanitarian support. The ministers discussed expanding cooperation in defense, security, reconstruction, and energy, as well as advancing Ukraine's path toward membership in the European Union.

The foreign ministers also exchanged views on a concerning incident in which Hungary seized Ukrainian banking vehicles traveling in transit from Austria and detained Ukrainian citizens working on board. Such actions contradict the European Convention on Human Rights and respect for international law, the Ukrainian foreign minister stressed.

"In this context, we also noted that it is unacceptable for any single country to block the EUR 90 billion facility for Ukraine driven by ambitions to play along with Russia’s agenda," he emphasized.

Sybiha concluded that the partnership between Ukraine and Poland remains strong, and the two countries are determined to continue strengthening it for the sake of regional stability, European security, and global peace.

As previously reported by Ukrinform, Andrii Sybiha will make his first visit in 13 years to Chile and Panama on March 10–13.
